MONONOKE HIME (1980)

I had no idea that the great HAYAO MIYAZAKI produced a book in 1980 called MONONOKE HIME. It's a beautiful fable and one can't help but wonder why it wasn't made into a movie..
It's done entirely in loose an vibrant watercolor paintings...bold, elegant and beautiful...
One can certainly see elements of both MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO and PRINCESS MONONOKE percolating here, but it is a wildy different story...

ARTISTS HELP JAPAN

In the aftermath of the devastating Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan, we are reminded of how important it is to contribute support any way possible.
The mighty DICE TSUTSUMI has helped organize and establish the ARTISTS HELP JAPAN Emergency Fund, working with GIVE2ASIA ,which is responding directly to the immediate needs of survivors as well as contributing to short-term and long-term recovery projects.
There will be an upcoming Benefit Art Auction ( details forthcoming ), but in the meantime, please don't hesitate to HELP!

NEW MONSTERS for ECCC 2011
I've drawn 36 brand new MONSTERS for the upcoming 2011 EMERALD CITY COMIC CON.
These were drawn on Canson and Pastel paper, using a Mechanical Pencil, some Sharpies, PrismaColor Pencils and Markers...
I'll have the originals for sale at our ECCC booth, which I'll be sharing with TED MATHOT and JAMIE BAKER. After the show, I'll make the remaining sketches available for sale via this blog.
If you are in Seattle March 4-6, come by the show and say hello!
